Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Hospital Manager to oversee the daily operations of our veterinary hospital. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of veterinary medical office management, and a comprehensive understanding of hospital systems. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of managing multiple employees, assisting with procedures or appointments, and fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient care and staff development. The Hospital Manager will serve as the key point of contact for administrative, clinical, and operational functions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality veterinary services in a compliant and efficient manner. Duties Oversee and assist in daily hospital operations, including appointment flow, administrative functions, facility maintenance and staff management Manage inventory and ordering systems Supervise medical office staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and human resources functions Maintain accurate medical records utilizing Avimark systems Oversee medical administrative support functions including appointment scheduling, billing, checking out, and patient records management Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize patient care in general wellness, hospitalized, and emergent situations Implement policies for efficiency, and routine maintenance and care of facilities Coordinate with the doctor to approve scheduling, budgets, and prioritization of appointments. Monitor clinic performance metrics and develop strategies for continuous improvement in service quality and operational efficiency Qualifications Proven experience in veterinary management roles with supervisory responsibilities Strong background in fiscal management including budgeting, ordering, accounts payable, and accounts receivable Familiarity with Avimark management system, and Idexx machines is preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and compliance standards preferred Experience with office management within hospitals or clinics is highly desirable Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise multiple people and multiple patients effectively Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and administrative processes Background in veterinary medicine or as veterinary technician is advantageous but not mandatory; relevant veterinary experience required Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of patient care and operational efficiency
Hours:
