Provides oversight to front office staff and serves as content expert. Provides support to staff in various front office activities.
Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions:
Disseminates work to staff, establishes priorities, and resolves problems related to day to day operations. Assists the management team in identifying Areas of Improvement (AOI). Engages staff to use recommended improvement tools to improve all aspects of operations. Provides guidance to staff in the release of medical information policies and procedures. Serves as resource and superuser for computer applications. May create and manage master schedules. May submit payroll information in the manager's absence or as assigned. Promotes safety, reporting and assists staff in reporting events that impact patient safety. Is responsible for any of the duties and responsibilities of the Physician Office Assistant. May be responsible maintaining adequate inventory and ordering supplies.

Assists in selecting staff, trains/orients personnel, monitors performance, may prepare work schedules, and provides feedback for areas of opportunity with employee performance. Assists in implementing goals, objectives, policies and procedures for department operations which guide and support the successful provision of service. Maintains professional growth and development. Serves as a positive role model. Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment and safety standards. Assists in leading on site activities in such a way that promotes the satisfaction and welfare of the patients visiting the site. Assists in maintaining proper functioning of equipment Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation
Qualifications Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED Required Certificate Program Post secondary training (e.g., Medical Secretarial/Assisting)
Preferred or Associates Degree Preferred Work Experience:
2 years Previous physician office experience.
Required Courses and Training:
Medical terminology course. Upon Hire Required Computerized billing/scheduling system.
Upon Hire Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal /communication skills. Knowledge of medical office operations to include reception, billing, scheduling, insurance and general office skills. Self motivated. Models team work. Able to work independently.
