About the Organization Beaufort Memorial, a not-for-profit hospital founded in 1944 on the banks of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, is licensed for 201 beds (169 acute, 14 rehabilitation and 18 mental health). We are an acute-care hospital, a regional referral center and the largest medical facility between Savannah, Ga., and Charleston, S.C. JOB SUMMARY
The Practice Manager provides comprehensive administrative and operational leadership for all Hospital-Based Physician Services in Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head Island locations. This position ensures seamless practice operations, maintains regulatory compliance, supports provider needs, and promotes exceptional patient care delivery across all hospital-based service lines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Management Oversee daily operations of hospital-based physician services to optimize efficiency, productivity, and quality care delivery Monitor and analyze practice-level metrics and performance indicators Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies Provider Support & Coordination Coordinate comprehensive new provider onboarding and orientation processes Develop and manage provider staffing schedules to maintain adequate and consistent coverage Administrative Functions Compile and process all payroll-related reports and documentation Track, monitor, and report on practice-level performance metrics Ensure all documentation requirements are met- monitor all outstanding documentation and communicate with providers accordingly. Communication & Collaboration Facilitate effective communication between all stakeholders Coordinate with hospital departments to ensure seamless service delivery Participate in leadership meetings and strategic planning initiatives Position Requirements
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION Bachelor's degree preferred in Health Care Administration, Finance, Management, or related field. Experience may be acceptable in place of a degree.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three years' experience with medical practice or physician management.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
Thorough knowledge of computer information systems, particularly as they relate to electronic medical record systems. Knowledge of malpractice and other corporate insurance policies Exceptional leadership abilities, particularly in relation to physicians and staff Overall knowledge in hospital or medical practice operations Previous experience with physician scheduling
WORKING CONDITIONS
Inside under normal temperatures, adequate light, ventilation and space. Works as part of and leads the office team at the assigned clinic practice, occasionally working independently of others, with moderate noise from others and equipment. No unusual hazard risks, but does include possible exposure to various chemical agents typically used in a medical office setting, and possible exposure to communicable diseases. Requires intermittent physical activity including sitting (50%), walking, standing, stooping, carrying, speaking, seeing, bending, handling, and proficiency. Must have sufficient freedom of total body movement to stand up and sit down at various work areas and be able to lift 15lbs. Must be able to reach for files and charts above shoulder height. Must have the ability to effectively communicate and present material verbally, digitally (via computer or phone), and in writing. Must interact and assist all staff, patients, and family members of patients at the assigned clinic practice as appropriate and applicable to include answering telephonic or digital inquiries.
