Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Optical Manager to lead our optical department with enthusiasm and expertise. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional patient and customer experiences, and manage a team of optical staff. Your leadership will drive sales growth, maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, and uphold the highest standards of optical care. Duties Lead and supervise the optical department team, including opticians, technicians, and support staff to deliver outstanding service Manage inventory levels of eyewear products, contact lenses, and optical supplies to meet customer demand Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times Oversee the use of electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic to accurately document patient interactions and prescriptions Assist in patient examinations by taking vital signs, conducting basic physiology assessments, and understanding ophthalmology terminology Coordinate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers for specialized care such as pediatrics or senior care patients Drive retail sales through effective customer engagement, product recommendations, and retail math strategies Maintain laboratory experience standards for lens fitting, adjustments, and repairs while adhering to aseptic techniques Ensure all medical coding and billing procedures are correctly followed for insurance claims and medical records management Support clinic operations by training staff on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinic experience best practices Skills Extensive knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy of the eye, and physiology fundamentals Proven experience in optical retail management combined with retail sales expertise Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical billing procedures Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic for documentation and data management Ability to interpret medical terminology accurately within clinical settings Experience working with pediatric patients and senior care populations is highly desirable Competence in laboratory techniques related to lens fitting, aseptic procedures, and optical repairs Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and optimize retail math strategies for sales growth Knowledge of vital signs assessment techniques relevant to clinical evaluations Join us as an Optical Manager where your expertise will elevate our optical services!
