Practice Manager MRA-The Management Association United States, Wisconsin, Madison May 15, 2026 Vierbicher Practice Manager Green Bay, WI Madison, WI Milwaukee, WI Prarie de Chein Reedsburg, WI Vierbicher is a team of professional engineers, planners, community development specialists, land surveyors and GIS specialists who provide comprehensive solutions for a wide range of projects. General Description:
The Practice Leader will be responsible for technical oversight, project delivery, client development, and strategic direction of traffic-related services for private development projects and municipal infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in traffic engineering principles along with a passion for building teams and expanding service capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Practice Development & Leadership Lead the development and growth of the traffic engineering practice, including strategic planning and service offerings. Identify market opportunities and expand the firm's presence in traffic and transportation services. Collaborate with firm leadership on business planning, budgeting, and staffing needs. Mentor and guide junior staff as the team grows. 2. Project Management & Technical Oversight Manage and deliver traffic engineering projects from planning through design and implementation. Oversee preparation of traffic impact studies, safety analyses, signal design, signing and pavement marking plans, and corridor studies. Ensure quality control and adherence to applicable standards (MUTCD, AASHTO, WisDOT, etc.). Provide technical expertise and review of deliverables. 3. Client Development & Business Development Develop and maintain relationships with municipal, county, and state clients Support proposal development, including scope, schedule, and fee estimates Represent the firm at industry events, meetings, and conferences Identify and pursue new project opportunities 4. Collaboration Work closely with site development, and municipal engineering teams Coordinate with planners, public agencies, and stakeholders Contribute to multidisciplinary project teams 5. Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles, standards, and software tools Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Synchro & Sim Traffic, PTV Vissim, PTV Vistro, HCS, Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret traffic data and simulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members, clients, and stakeholders. Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work on schedule. Experience with traffic studies, signal design, and transportation planning Self-starter with the ability to build and grow a service line
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required Minimum of 5+ years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering Proven project management and client interaction experience
Licenses or Certifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6-12 months Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires sitting at a desk and working at a computer for long period of time Some work may include field work This position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
