Job Description

Medical Records Specialist Pay:
$16.00 per hour
Schedule:
Full-Time Location:
Cottonwood AZ In this role, you will help manage patient records, process referrals, and support our clinical teams to ensure patients receive the care they need. What You'll Do Medical Records Process requests for medical records. Scan and upload documents into patient charts. Review and distribute incoming faxes. Maintain accurate and organized electronic medical records. Enter Release of Information (ROI) documentation into the electronic health record (EHR). Prepare records for audits and reviews. Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines. Referrals Process referrals to specialty providers. Obtain prior authorizations when needed. Communicate with providers, hospitals, and outside agencies. Track referral status and document updates in the EHR. Support clinical staff with referral-related tasks. General Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff. Follow company policies and healthcare regulations. Maintain professional and positive communication. Complete assigned training and professional development activities. Assist with other duties as needed. What We're Looking For Required High School Diploma or GED. Strong attention to detail. Good communication and customer service skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to handle confidential information professionally. Preferred Experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, or medical records department. Experience working with electronic health records (EHR). Knowledge of HIPAA and medical record practices. Skills for Success Organized and dependable. Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Comfortable working with computers, scanners, copiers, and fax machines.
