Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk for a contract/temporary opportunity in San Marcos, CA. This role is ideal for a healthcare administrative professional with experience handling medical records, EHR systems, document scanning, indexing, and accurate data entry. The Medical Records Clerk will support the Health Information Management function by reviewing paper and electronic medical records, identifying key information, entering required details into the EHR, and ensuring documents are scanned and filed accurately. Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately enter required information from paper and electronic medical records into the EHR system.
  • Collect, prepare, scan, index, and electronically file loose documents for medical record completion.
  • Apply sound judgment when filing documents to the correct provider and appropriate EHR location.
  • Assist patients with basic medical record questions while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Navigate EHR and legacy systems to review, locate, and update clinical documentation as needed.
  • Complete additional medical records and HIM department support duties as assigned. Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay rate: $23 to $24 per hour.
