(CHS) is a private nonprofit federally qualified health center (FQHC) dedicated to providing quality healthcare to the Greater Hartford area. Established in 1970, CHS serves nearly 17,000 individuals annually, ensuring access to care for all, regardless of income or insurance status. Summary As a Medical Records Clerk at Community Health Services, Inc., you will play a vital role in managing patient records and ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of medical information. This position is essential to our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare and supporting our commitment to patient-centered care. Responsibilities Maintain and organize patient medical records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of all patient information. Assist healthcare providers with accessing and updating medical records as needed. Process requests for medical records from patients and authorized entities. Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless communication regarding patient information. Perform regular audits of medical records for completeness and accuracy. Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations related to medical recordkeeping. Qualifications Proven experience in managing medical records within a healthcare setting. Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare systems. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred but not required. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare staff.
