Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to support healthcare documentation activities in Margate, Florida. This Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage patient records with accuracy, protect confidential information, and keep filing systems organized across both paper and electronic formats. The role plays an important part in helping the office respond efficiently to authorized record requests, billing-related inquiries, and daily administrative needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain patient charts and medical documentation in accordance with organizational standards and recordkeeping practices.
  • Organize, file, and retrieve records across physical and electronic systems so information is accessible when needed.
  • Process incoming and outgoing chart materials while verifying completeness, accuracy, and proper classification.
  • Fulfill authorized requests for medical information and ensure releases are handled in line with privacy and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate the storage and movement of records between on-site files, off-site archives, and external service providers.
  • Support billing and administrative teams by providing documentation needed for information requests and follow-up activities.
  • Perform routine quality reviews to identify discrepancies, correct filing issues, and maintain reliable data integrity.
  • Monitor recordkeeping equipment and office tools, reporting issues or arranging support to avoid workflow interruptions.
  • Contribute to daily departmental operations by meeting deadlines, handling sensitive information responsibly, and collaborating on shared projects. Requirements
  • Experience working with medical records in a healthcare, clinic, hospital, or related office environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and standard document management practices.
  • Knowledge of patient record handling, confidentiality expectations, and authorized release procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage high volumes of documentation accurately.
  • Ability to review information carefully and identify missing, incomplete, or inconsistent data.
  • Proficiency with general office procedures, filing systems, and administrative support tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as with a team.
