We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our team at the Illinois Hammer Injury Law Firm. As a Medical Records Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and accurate management of medical records for our cases. You will be responsible for ordering, downloading, and documenting all medical records and bills needed for our cases, as well as maintaining clear communication with third-party record retrievers, facilities, and our accounting department. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in multitasking are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities:
Medical Records Ordering:
Order all medical records and/or bills needed for our cases from relevant healthcare facilities and providers. Record Management:
Download records, bills, and documents received via fax or email, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Communication Documentation:
Document all communication in cases in an organized manner, maintaining clear and thorough records. Email Management:
Read, respond to, and take appropriate action on incoming emails related to medical records requests and case management. Collaboration:
Work closely and communicate effectively with third-party record retrievers, such as Records on Time, to ensure timely retrieval of records. Facility Coordination:
Maintain close communication with multiple facilities used by the firm on a regular basis, facilitating record retrieval and management. Accounting Support:
Work closely with the accounting department to ensure all charges related to medical records are accurately accounted for and paid. Team Communication:
Maintain good communication with attorneys and case managers regarding every aspect of medical records, providing updates and addressing any concerns promptly. Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. High school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to maintain clear and thorough records. Experience in multitasking, working at a fast pace, and strong time management skills. Experience in medical records management is a plus but not a requirement. Work Schedule:
