Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely retrieval and delivery of medical records
  • Scanning documents into patients charts and route to appropriate dr or employee
  • Check faxes to make sure everything is going through and resend if it has failed
  • Answer phones when MA's are busy.
  • Help patients at window if medical assistants are unavailable.
  • Take new patient info over the phone and route to appropriate person. Call patient back after insurance has been verified and schedule appointment. Request records from previous doctors or get previous record online and attach to chart
  • Proofread dictated reports that come back from other sources. Once proofread, send to the doctor for her signature and fax to nursing facility.
  • Get records from the Medical Records Department and scan into charts and route to the appropriate MA or DR
  • Enter lab values in flow charts
  • Receive mail and scan in patients' charts and route to the appropriate dr.
  • Check Shingrix for patients 65 and over and check Tdap through Edispense
  • Update NH lists and highlight when patient seen.
  • Check email accounts
  • Receive referrals from other doctor's offices.
Obtain proper records, have insurance verified & schedule appointments.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical records management or a related field
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, including knowledge of common diagnoses, procedures, and medications
  • Strong understanding of medical record documentation requirements and compliance standards
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and other medical record software applications
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
