Summary:
AS THE CLINICAL DOCUMENTATION SPECIALIST
(CDS), YOU'LL
BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONCURRENTLY REVIEWING PATIENT MEDICAL RECORDS TO FACILITATE THE ACCURATE REPRESENTATION OF THE SEVERITY OF ILLNESS. THIS INVOLVES EXTENSIVE RECORD REVIEW, AND INTERACTION WITH PHYSICIANS, HIM PROFESSIONALS AND NURSING STAFF. ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN TEAM MEETINGS AND EDUCATION OF STAFF IN THE COMPLIANT DOCUMENTATION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
® (CDMP)

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school graduate or equivalency diploma required. Knowledge of medical record content and format helpful.
Experience:
1.Strong organizational skills 2.Excellent computer skills 3.Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills Required skills:
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with co-workers, physicians, and the general public.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
  • Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
  • Be able to follow written and oral communications.
  • Be knowledgeable in microcomputers, data input and output.
