Job Description

Kennedys, a global law firm, is seeking a highly organized and detail oriented Medical Records Clerk to support our fast-paced New York Insurance Defense Litigation practice. This is a full time, hybrid role based out of our New York, NY office. Key Responsibilities Organize and maintain plaintiff's medical records for a high-volume team of attorneys working on large construction matters with multiple parties/sub-contractors Processing of authorizations for collection of medical records, radiological films/reports, vocational/Workers' comp records, and bills from healthcare providers, ensuring timely follow-up Ensure medical documentation is correctly filed in our document storage system Manage attorney requests for medical records through ServiceDesk Plus Serve as a point of contact for inquiries related to medical records, reports and bills Ensure all record requests are handling in compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide additional administrative support to paralegals and attorneys as needed Required Skills and Experience 3-5 years of experience as a medical records clerk, legal secretary, or in a similar role within a law firm Proficiency in electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office Suite Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules and procedures Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities Professional communication skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels Flexible, dependable, and eager to learn, with strong problem-solving skills The annualized salary range for this role is $60,000-$70,000. However, this is contingent upon level of experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
