Job Description

About the Role We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Referral Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this specific role, you will be primarily responsible for processing referrals and authorizations dedicated to total joint and total hip procedures. The ideal candidate will have a background in healthcare administration, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Referral & Authorization Management:
Initiate, process, and track medical referrals and prior authorizations specifically for total joint and hip procedures.
Inbound Communications:
Manage a high-volume inbound phone queue, assisting patients, providers, and clinical staff with inquiries related to referral statuses and authorization guidelines.
Research & Resolution:
Thoroughly investigate and resolve complex authorization requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational and insurance standards.
Documentation:
Accurately document all interactions, referral statuses, and authorization details within the designated electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Required Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of experience working in a healthcare setting.
Core Skills:
• knowledge of medical terminology (especially related to orthopedics/joints). Exceptional customer service and communication skills. Excellent time management and ability to multitask effectively.
Technical Proficiency:
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working with
EPIC EMR
software is highly preferred.
Work Environment & Additional Requirements Work Setting:
This is a strictly 100% onsite role. Remote work is not available for this position.
Health & Safety:
Seasonal Influenza Vaccination (or an approved declination) is required during the flu season (November 1•April 30).

$24.99•$25 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8:30 AM•5
