Chart Builder StatCare - 4.3 Knoxville, TN Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Medical terminology Full Job Description StatCare is a private Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep, and Hospitalist medical practice dedicated to providing high-quality inpatient & outpatient care to patients throughout East Tennessee. Our physicians and advanced practice providers are committed to delivering patient-centered care to ensuring continuity, expertise, and compassion at every stage of hospitalization. StatCare strives to work collaboratively with hospital partners, nurses, and support staff, improving health outcomes and elevate the standard of care for the communities we are proud to serve. Chart Builders support the clinical team by preparing accurate and complete patient charts prior to scheduled appointments in a pulmonary outpatient clinic. This role reviews prior visit documentation to understand the reason for the patient's return visit and ensures all required testing, imaging, and supporting medical documentation are available for the provider before the appointment. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, and comfortable working within multiple electronic systems. This individual must be able to efficiently navigate several medical portals and electronic systems to locate, retrieve, and upload patient records throughout the day.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
: (List does not include all duties assigned) Prepare and build complete patient charts in the electronic medical record (EMR) prior to scheduled patient appointments Review the patient's most recent office note to determine the purpose of the upcoming visit Identify follow up testing, imaging, lab work, or consult notes requested by the provider during the previous visit Ensure all required documentation for the upcoming visit is available in the chart, including CT scans, imaging reports, pulmonary function tests, lab results, sleep study reports, and hospital documentation when applicable Retrieve medical records and diagnostic reports from multiple external systems including hospital portals, imaging portals, laboratory portals, and referring provider systems Efficiently navigate and manage multiple online systems and portals throughout the day to obtain patient documentation Identify and organize medical documentation from multiple specialties including pulmonology, cardiology, radiology, sleep medicine, hospital medicine, and primary care Obtain missing records from hospitals, imaging centers, laboratories, or specialty practices when necessary Upload and organize documents in the EMR so providers can quickly access relevant information Communicate with clinical staff when required documentation has not been received prior to the patient visit Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure all documentation is handled in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with medical record management including scanning, and organizing documents within the
EMR KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong computer and technical skills with the ability to efficiently navigate multiple systems and online portals simultaneously Ability to work within 3 to 5 different portals or electronic platforms to obtain patient documentation Knowledge of medical terminology required Ability to read and interpret physician office notes to identify follow up care and documentation needs Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple charts and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and problem-solving skills
EDUCATON
High School Diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE
Experience working in a medical office, medical records, or clinical setting using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system preferred
