processing. Duties and Responsibilities
Record Management:
Retrieve medical/billing records and information in affidavit form,using electronic health record (EHR) systems and physical filing methods,in accordance with legal and regulatory guidelines.
Quality Assurance:
Review medical/billing records for completeness and accuracy, reaching out to providers/TPA's to obtain missing signatures or information as applicable.
Compliance:
Strictly maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations at all times.
Administrative Support:
Assist with departmental audits, answer phones, direct faxes to the appropriate staff, etc. (Ad Hoc projects as needed.) Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required; associate's degree in health information technology or a related field is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in a medical office, or legal setting dealing with medical evidence.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with computers and experience navigating EHR software (e.g., Microsoft Office/Adobe/FileVine/Internet Search Engines).
Medical Knowledge:
Familiarity with standard medical terminology and healthcare privacy laws.
Soft Skills:
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Ability to work independently OR in a collaborative team effort setting.
