JOB SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for scanning documents into patients' medical records, processes requests for patient records and is knowledgeable with records release.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

): Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintain records to ensure records remain up to date. Processing incoming electronic faxes. Maintains highest level of professionalism and personal ethics. Ensures confidentiality of patient information and staff information. Processes, tracks, and bills request for Release of Information according to established procedures. Processes, tracks chart audit requests. Enter procedures done by outside entities into patient's record. EDUCATION and/or

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations. Knowledge of the operational aspects of a Medical Records Department. Good written and verbal communication skills required. Able to interact with people easily (clients, insurance companies, providers, office staff, etc.), must put the client's needs ahead of own. Accurately type 40-45 wpm. Computer literacy Medical Terminology a plus. Experience with Ochin Epic is a plus.
