  • Health Information Management (HIM) Position Summary South County Mental Health Center, Inc. is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Clerk
  • Health Information Management (HIM) to support the maintenance, organization, and processing of medical records.
This position is responsible for ensuring records are complete, accurate, confidential, and accessible to authorized personnel while supporting daily administrative and filing operations within the Health Information Management department. About Us South County Mental Health Center, Inc. is a private, non-profit, Joint Commission-accredited behavioral healthcare provider serving Southeast Palm Beach County. We are dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality mental health services to individuals and families in our community. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Basic computer and data entry skills Filing or clerical experience preferred Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum six (6) months of medical records or filing experience Experience working in healthcare or behavioral health settings Familiarity with numerical and color-coded filing systems Duties and Responsibilities Medical Records Filing & Chart Management Pull charts for authorized personnel including medical providers, nursing staff, and laboratories File charts and medical records in the main filing system Maintain organized and accurate filing systems for daily operations Prepare records and charts for the following business day Records Processing & Documentation Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards Investigate incidents, track trends, and implement corrective actions Oversee risk management processes and patient safety initiatives Maintain policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements Records Requests & Copy Services Pull charts for authorized personnel including medical providers, nursing staff, and laboratories File charts and medical records in the main filing system Maintain organized and accurate filing systems for daily operations Prepare records and charts for the following business day New Chart Preparation & Administrative Support Pull charts for authorized personnel including medical providers, nursing staff, and laboratories File charts and medical records in the main filing system Maintain organized and accurate filing systems for daily operations Prepare records and charts for the following business day Additional Duties Conduct internal audits, chart reviews, and program evaluations Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation Coordinate external audits and accreditation surveys Core Competencies Pull charts for authorized personnel including medical providers, nursing staff, and laboratories File charts and medical records in the main filing system Maintain organized and accurate filing systems for daily operations Prepare records and charts for the following business day Physical Demands Pull charts for authorized personnel including medical providers, nursing staff, and laboratories File charts and medical records in the main filing system Maintain organized and accurate filing systems for daily operations Prepare records and charts for the following business day Working Conditions Pull charts for authorized personnel including medical providers, nursing staff, and laboratories File charts and medical records in the main filing system Maintain organized and accurate filing systems for daily operations Prepare records and charts for the following business day Performance Standards Performance will be evaluated based on: Pull charts for authorized personnel including medical providers, nursing staff, and laboratories File charts and medical records in the main filing system Maintain organized and accurate filing systems for daily operations Prepare records and charts for the following business day

Pay:
