Job Description

HIM Analyst 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars The HIM Analyst I is responsible for managing deficiencies, contacting providers, overseeing medical records, and serving as the primary HIM contact. Tasks also include preparing, scanning, and reviewing medical records, executing information release processes, ensuring accurate billing, resolving accounts, and fostering patient care collaborations. Responsibilities extend to developing HIM projects, educating staff, ensuring compliance, and maintaining professionalism. 1. One year working in healthcare required, preferably in HIM. 2. One year of Release of Information and HIPAA experience preferred. 3. Clinical documentation analysis preferred. 4. Understanding of medical terminology 1. Gather, analyze, and track deficiencies and delinquencies; initiate contact with providers, , medical staff, executive staff, and the HIM Director. Also, serve as the main contact for medical records corrections. 2. Prepares, Scans, Indexes, and provides Quality Review of medical records. 3. Manages the release of information, ensuring accurate logging, seamless distribution, and precise billing. 4. Serves as the primary contact for Transcription, Coding, and Records Management/Storage 5. Delivers education and training on HIM topics to enhance the knowledge of HIM, clinical, and administrative staff. 6. Assess and ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory guidelines from accrediting bodies such as CMS, The Joint Commission, AMA, and HIPAA within the HIM domain. 7. Works directly with coders and billers to resolve problem accounts. 8. Cultivates strong relationships with patients, providers, and other facilities to seamlessly coordinate ongoing patient care. Demonstrates exceptional customer service in the process. 9. Develop, track, measure, and report on HIM Quality Improvement Projects and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Conduct audits, perform analyses, and present findings along with recommendations to the HIM Director. 10. Demonstrates effective time management by consistently arriving on time and planning tasks efficiently. 11. Behave and dress in a professional and courteous manner consistent with the facilities' Standards of Behavior. 12. Other duties as assigned.
