Health Information Management Clerk (Part Time)

To support the medical records department through variety of clerical, technical and related support services.

Pay Range:

$23/hr. to $27/hr.

Work Schedule:

Varied Days Essential functions Sort and File dictated reports in unit charts and discharge charts. Retrieve discharge charts and thinned records from nursing units. Assemble IP and OP discharged charts according to chart order. File thinned records in patient's discharge charts. Verify patient's information is correct on all reports in the medical records. Audit discharge charts for missing written reports, dictations, unsigned orders and other chart forms. Flag deficiency with appropriate color coded physician flags. Enter deficiency in computer, print deficiency form and file in chart. Clear deficiency in computer once completed by physician. Assist with phone inquiries, request and release of copies of medical records. Retrieve charts for physicians and other staff. Requirements High School Diploma Preferred Education and Experience Knowledge of medical coding. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of health information management systems.
