Medical Records Clerk

Sterling Medical is currently looking for the following Medical Records Clerk To work on-site at 34800 Bob Wilson Dr. Bldg 46

Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA Qualifficatons:

Must:

• Be a Fully qualified typist (computer keyboard) with a minimum of at least 40 wpm.
• Be able to use standard Office Equipment, such as computers, typewriters, copiers, fax machines, telephone systems and office automation Systems.
• have General medical ethics, telephone etiquette, and excellent communication and customer service skills.

Education:

o High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalency. Basic Medical Terminology is required.

Experience:

o At least (1) One year of relevant experience Duties including, but not limited to: o Initiates and maintains medical records in accordance with prescribed directives. o Scans Medical documentation of patient care into the official medical record. o Searches for missing paperwork or records; requests information pertaining to patient treatment to place in medical records. o Prepare reports regarding record statistics as necessary. o Participates in records review as part of the facility's quality assurance program and in accordance with accreditation standards. o Interface with NMCSD staff and its beneficiaries. o Maintain office files and patient records in subject and chronological order and in accordance with departmental policies. o Create, copy, edit, calculate, revise, retrieve, store and print wide range of documents in final form. o Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Standards. o Must follow HIPAA guidelines under the Privacy Act.
