Job Description:
Reviews and stays updated on regulatory bodies and hospital rules regarding EMR completion. Analyzes physician documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and hospital regulations. Accurately updates and maintain workques for workflow and follow-up as needed. Conducts regular audits of EMR documentation to ensure adherence to regulatory bodies and hospital policies. Collaborates with the HIM leadership and other relevant departments to address any issues related to EMR completion. Compiles and reports data on compliance with regulatory bodies and hospital rules to administration and medical staff leaders. Provides support and guidance to physicians and staff regarding EMR documentation requirements. Participates in continuous education and training to stay current with changes in regulatory bodies and hospital rules. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic PC knowledge including the use of Micosoft Word, Excel and OneNote [Required]
Education:
High School Grad or Equiv [Required] Technical/Vocational School [Required]
Field of Study:
Vocational or technical degree in Health Information Management field required
Work Experience:
Prior experience analyzing medical records within an Electronic Health Record [Required]
Additional Information:
N/A Licenses and Certifications:
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) [Preferred]
