Job Description

Day (United States of America) HIM Specialist The HIM Specialist is responsible for the release of medical information; assisting in the analysis and processing of incomplete medical records, distribution functions, completion of birth certificates, and processing of internal and external requests; provides assistance to the physicians in completion of records. Provides excellent customer service to all customers. High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Two (2) years of college and/or other related course work, such as medical terminology, anatomy and physiology preferred. RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) credential preferred. 1-3 years progressive Health Information Management experience preferred Must have proficient computer skills. Experience with an Electronic Medical Records system preferred. Knowledge of Health Information Management software applications . Must be customer-service oriented and able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Team Members at all levels in the organization. Professionalism in interpersonal communication skills with patients, patient families, colleagues, physicians and ancillary department personnel is required. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to assist in providing exceptional care for our patients and their families.
