Job Description

Job Summary Document Scanning & Indexing Technician for Medical Records (NOT REMOTE) Document Imaging Technicians needed at a large teaching university to scan and index medical record documents. The primary functions of the Document Imaging Technician are to key data into document imaging software and manually feed documents into a scanner. Once documents have been scanned, a preliminary quality check is performed on the images to ensure a high quality, readable image. This is a production environment with a heavy focus on quality. Position is located off campus in an office setting. Dress code is business casual/casual. Hours are flexible. Open position is for PT
  • Availability for weekend and afternoon shifts as well; may have some flexibility to schedule.
Responsibilities and Duties Review medical record documentation, both on the computer and also off the paper, keying in various elements into the document imaging system. Identify work type to be completed and process per company and facility guidelines. Prioritize work based on contracted turn around times. Quality check the scanned images on the screen when comparing to the original, to ensure a readable image. Review work for quality and accuracy. Meet or exceed production standards. Communicate problems and status of work with team members and management. Provide excellent customer service. Works within scope of the position and willingly accepts all assignments as directed. Can lift 35 pound box Qualifications and Skills High school graduate
  • required Previous experience with scanning
  • preferred but not required Familiarity with medical terminology
  • preferred but not required Medical office experience
  • preferred but not required Computer skills (Windows based software, including MS Office, e-mail, etc.) Proficient data entry and 10 key abilities
  • required.
Strong organizational skills. Meticulous attention to detail. Production focused. Good verbal and written communication skills.
