  • HIM for a 6-month temporary backfill opportunity supporting critical Health Information Management (HIM) applications within a dynamic healthcare environment.
This role is ideal for a healthcare IT professional who can quickly step into a leadership position, provide operational continuity, and make an immediate impact. You'll serve as a trusted application expert and mentor while collaborating closely with HIM leadership, clinical teams, and IT partners to support key initiatives and maintain system stability. This position is fully remote day-to-day, with occasional travel required for onsite meetings as needed. Key Responsibilities As the Application Lead
  • HIM, you will combine technical expertise with team leadership responsibilities, including: Serving as the subject matter expert for HIM applications and workflows Supporting continuity of operations during the 6-month coverage period Coordinating and prioritizing team activities to meet service levels and project deadlines Providing mentorship, technical guidance, and oversight to application analysts Acting as an escalation point for complex integrated system issues Partnering with HIM, clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and recommend solutions Performing fit/gap analyses and documenting current and future-state workflows Designing, testing, validating, and implementing system enhancements Leading or supporting small•to medium-scale projects and optimization initiatives Participating in integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) Reviewing, triaging, and assigning incidents and change requests Participating in a second-level 24/7 on-call rotation Required Qualifications Epic Certification required High School Diploma or GED 6-10+ years of experience supporting healthcare applications or clinical systems Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear, user-friendly manner Customer-focused with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Willingness to obtain additional application-specific certifications/proficiencies within 90 days if applicable Required HIM Knowledge Areas HIM Release of Information (ROI) HIM Identity (EMPI) HIM Deficiency Tracking (DT) HIM Coding Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare, Business, or a related field (Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree) Experience working in a hospital, health system, or medical practice environment Experience supporting Epic HIM modules Experience supporting OnBase workflows Epic Gallery project experience strongly preferred, including implementation, optimization, or upgrade initiativesWhy Join This Opportunity?
