Full-time The HIM Technician position is responsible for retrieving medical records from outside healthcare entities for auditing requests.
Responsibilities include traveling to the offices of other healthcare entities and scanning/uploading copies of patient's medical records, then uploading those medical records into the patient's DOHC medical record, also general scanning and filing of other filing. Professional Duties Travels to IPA offices and Skilled Nursing Facilities to scan and complete medical record requests. Assures that records scanned are complete and accurate. Effectively communicates with other departments and providers staff in a collaborative effort to ensure information is retrieved and follow-up when necessary. Upload information on a daily basis in the appropriate software application. Maintains equipment and communicates all issues to HIM Management and MIS. Scans and files. Equipment is safeguarded at all times during transportation. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience in computer-document scanning preferred. Moderate to advanced computer skills. Working knowledge of scanning and medical terminology. Ability to file accurately. Detailed oriented with good organizational skills. Good inter-personal communication skills and time management skills. Driving required approximately 10% of the day. Valid California driver's license and proof of automobile insurance. At the discretion of
