THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Information Technology Technician 2 analyzes technical problems and implements appropriate solutions. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide telephone, remote, and in-person technical support through the UT Health Science Center College of Medicine-Knoxville's Help Desk operation. This position is also primarily responsible for performing installation and upgrades to computers and peripherals.
EDUCATION
: High School Diploma or GED. (Bachelor's Degree preferred.) (TRANSCRIPT
REQUIRED
)
EXPERIENCE
: Two (2) years of relevant experience; OR a combination of education and experience to equal two (2) years.
CERTIFICATIONS
: CompTIA A+ and ITIL v4 Foundation certification preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Extensive applied knowledge and direct experience with Microsoft Windows 11, Microsoft Office 365, TCP/IP, and BitLocker encryption. Fundamental knowledge of MacOS and iOS. Fundamental knowledge of network architecture, server functionality, and mail clients. Intermediate computer troubleshooting skills necessary. Advanced knowledge of HIPAA required.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings. Provides technical support to the entire UT Health Science Center COM-Knoxville's clinical and educational enterprise. Performs scheduled installation and replacement of end-user computers, peripheral devices and necessary software. Prioritizes and completes work based on criticality and impact on the affected department and the organization. Creates, manages and maintains internal knowledge base articles and configuration documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Performs other related duties as assigned
