Job Description

Responsible for the addition and removal of data in the Electronic Health Record information systems software ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the patient health records.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform a wide range of EHR file and chart maintenance to include new patient setup into EHR software and related applications. 2. Releases protected health information, in compliance with CommuniCare policies and procedures and related state and federal regulations. Maintains patient confidence and protects CommuniCare operations by keeping information confidential. 3. Assists in the proactive monitoring of EHR charts, applications, and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and integrity of data. 4. Provides assistance to staff with EHR chart maintenance issues. 5. Assists in providing support and guidance to CommuniCare staff and patients as it pertains to questions regarding patients' medical records. 6. Always demonstrates a service-oriented mindset by providing excellent internal/external customer service. Develops and maintains good interdepartmental relationships and partnerships. 7. Assists in the periodic medical chart audit and review. 8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent required Minimum one (1) year experience maintaining a major Electronic Health Record information system and/or 30 hours of college courses in Health Information management Experience in a healthcare industry Bi-lingual Spanish preferred Knowledge of reporting requirements for governmental, public, private and foundation grants/awards Must have good attention to detail Scheduled hours and/or work locations are subject to change

Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or other materials.
Physical:
Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. May have to lift folders, files, papers, audio/video equipment, and other such items weighing up to approximately 25 lbs.
