Job Description
Overview:
The Referral Coordinator/Float is primarily responsible for Patient Portal messages that are assigned to scheduling, Incoming Referrals, scanning and filing all medical records received, incoming faxes, and certified mail receipts. The Referral Coordinator will help the clinical staff, as needed, by rooming patients, assisting with procedures, chaperoning, and pathology. Will also help with answering the main phone line.Responsibilities:
Assist the receptionist with answering incoming calls. Fill in for PCA and reception positions in their absence. This will consist of assisting clinical staff to room patients, chaperone exams for providers, assisting with procedures, and helping with pathology, answering/directing phone calls, pt. check-in/out (lunches, time off, appointments, and illness). Connect/route and relay incoming calls and/or faxes to appropriate personnel. Check patient portal for appointment requests and other requests. Respond to each portal message or forward to appropriate staff if needed. Document all communications in EMR.Qualifications:
