Full Job Description Scope of Work:
The Bilingual Medical Receptionist is an on-site position, responsible for supporting the organizational mission through professional administration of the SAAF Health Clinic front desk reporting to the Associate Director of Clinical Services. This is full-time, forty (40) hours per week Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm in the office, non-exempt position. Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Functional Responsibilities:
Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, keeping patient information confidential. Front desk duties such as, registering patients, checking patients in, checking patients out, verifying insurance information, scheduling, rescheduling, faxing, filing. Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls. Referral tracking, faxing and scanning in patient documents. Obtain prior authorizations as needed for medications if needed. Corresponds to emails, phone calls and patient portal messages. Maintain neat work and waiting areas. Instruct/remind patients of appointment details. Ensuring patient demographics are up to date at every appointment. Assisting patients or callers with resource information. Maintaining paperwork at front desk. Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent substitute and 2 years; combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience. CPR/BLS certification required; TB test and proof of vaccination required. Bilingual (English/Spanish). Experience with EMR, MS Word, Excel, MS outlook. Ability to work within a team environment. Appropriate fingerprint clearance through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (paid for by SAAF if not current). Must have access to reliable transportation, a valid Arizona driver's license, insurance and a driving record that will be supported by SAAF's liability insurance provider.
Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years of medical receptionist experience. Good verbal and written communication skills. Correct grammar, spelling skills, and legible writing. Knowledge of population management, patient re-engagement and accurate record keeping. Able to speak/write English clearly and make self-understood. Strong computer, problem solving and organizational skills.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Operate in a professional office environment and requires the ability to sit for long periods of time with intermittent walking, standing, bending, squatting, pulling, and pushing. Requires the ability to use standard office equipment such as scanners, computers, keyboards, phones, shredders, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Requires travelling on occasion as needed between SAAF campuses and other locations.

This job is a sedentary job, as defined by the Social Security Administration, CFR.

Physical exertion requirements: (a) Sedentary work: Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally.
