Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in ensuring a positive patient experience and efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced medical office environment. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems is preferred, and experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) is highly desirable. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve our diverse patient population. The Medical Receptionist is responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations while providing exceptional customer service. Duties and Responsibilities Greet patients in a professional and courteous manner and provide exceptional customer service. Answer and manage incoming calls using a multi-line phone system. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments as needed. Register new patients and update demographic and insurance information accurately. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments. Collect copayments, deductibles, and outstanding patient balances. Scan, upload, and maintain patient records and other documentation within the EMR system. Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes. Coordinate patient communications, including appointment reminders and follow-up calls. Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation is complete and up to date. Support clinic staff with general administrative duties and help maintain an organized front office environment. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and protect patient confidentiality at all times. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous customer service experience required. Previous medical receptionist or medical office experience preferred. Experience using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems preferred; experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Experience with insurance verification processes preferred. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
