Front Desk Medical Receptionist

Medical Receptionist Duties:

• Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
• Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
• Able to handle multiple phone lines
• Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
• Verify patient information and insurance coverage
• Submit prior authorization for clinic visits
• Collect co-pays and process payments
• Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
• Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
• Ensure the waiting area is clean and organized
• Rooming patients, checking vitals and turning over rooms when needed

Experience:

• Previous experience working as a medical receptionist is required
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is required. Familiarity with Athena Health EMR is a plus
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Beining familiar with major insurances/IPAs in Inland Empire is preferred
• Spanish Bilingual is preferred.
