PAY:
$21.42 - $26.00 DOE CNA License preferred SNF Experience preferred Summary We are seeking a Unit Clerk to join our compassionate team at Golden Hill Post Acute in the heart of our facility. This role is vital in supporting our mission to enhance resident outcomes through effective administrative practices and collaboration with caregivers. Responsibilities Administrative Functions Maintain department's supplies and keeps equipment operational. Organize, label and file charts and medical records. Help transport residents as needed. Act as an information resource for patients, families, visitors, physicians, and outside reviewers in person and/or via telephone. Complete clerical duties for admissions, discharges, transfers, deaths and passes such as transcribing orders to medication/treatment sheets, ordering medications, dietary changes, therapies etc. Complete lab and special examination requisitions and data entry, as it pertains to the medical records department. Greet visitors, doctors, and new admissions with warmth and friendliness; helping with any assistance needed. Transcribe and verify admission orders and daily doctor's telephone orders will be verified and transcribed in a timely manner. Complete medical records by reviewing and assembling paperwork in proper order into a permanent folder. Order labs, ultrasounds etc. required for new admissions. Manage medical records and documentation efficiently. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality. Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating patient services. Utilize EMR systems for accurate data entry and retrieval. Support clinical staff with administrative tasks as needed. Facilitate communication between departments to enhance patient care. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families. Qualifications Proven experience in medical administrative support or similar roles. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or Meditech. Strong understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and typing skills. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
