Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and administrative support. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental and medical office systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare documentation and billing procedures. The Dental Receptionist will ensure smooth office operations while providing exceptional patient service in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive patient experience. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification processes accurately. Collect payments, process medical billing, and handle collections. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards. Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries with proper phone etiquette, and direct calls appropriately. Support office management duties including appointment reminders, patient intake procedures, and front desk operations. Ensure compliance with HIPAA policies and maintain confidentiality of all patient information. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations and effective communication. Qualifications Some experience in a medical or dental office setting; clinic or dental clinic experience is preferred. Some knowledge of dental terminology, ADA codes and insurance billing processes. Knowledge on computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) is a plus. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards. Bilingual abilities (Chinese, Spanish and English) are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Office management or administrative experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
