Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is looking for a Surgical Scheduler to join the Orthopedics team located in Waterbury. The Surgical Scheduler schedules surgical procedures, including, pre and postoperative visits under the direction of the provider. Responsible for maintaining proper provider schedules and coordinating surgeries in accordance with provider templates. Coordinates the surgeons' OR schedule and aligns it with the ambulatory practice schedule to ensure there are no overlaps. Processes also include obtaining accurate procedure, demographic and insurance information from the patient. What you will do:
Maintains proper provider schedules and coordinates surgeries in an efficient manner Accountable for obtaining pre-surgical testing, arrangements and reporting to pre-admission testing with Hospital Works in a timely manner to schedule procedures in an appropriate time period as it relates to the patient's diagnosis and urgency of the surgery. Completes any pre-authorizations and prior approvals from third party payers for all radiology and surgical procedures. Accurately captures patient information including demographic, diagnosis, procedure, insurance and physician and maintains accurate information in the electronic medical records system (EPIC). Coordinates exchanges of information between physicians in the group, outside groups, and Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center as it pertains to the surgical cases. Reviews discharge instructions with patients and ensures proper follow-up appointments are scheduled at the time the procedure is scheduled Position Highlights and Benefits:

High School Diploma or equivalent. 2-5 years Healthcare office experience. Medical terminology preferred. Prior surgical scheduling experience highly preferred.
