Job Description

Overview:
Medical Receptionist (Part-time 20 hours a week 8am-12pm Mon-Fri): Join our holistic team, actively bringing health and wellness to the Greater Hartford region via natural acupuncture treatments. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth patient flow and providing exceptional administrative support in a medical setting.
Shifts are:
8am
  • 12pm Mon-Fri in West Hartford There are opportunities to pick up additional shifts, cover, or substitute: 12-7pm M-Fri, weekends, or at our other location in Avon.
There are opportunities to advance, or learn more skills. Pay is $17-20/ hour, depending on experience.

You will be opening the clinic every morning, responding to texts, calls and emails from the night before. Checking the day's schedule, reaching out to patients and providers to confirm times, reschedule appointments, verify and confirm health insurance. This is a customer service position. MAC computer technology skills are also required as we use online scheduling for our patients, as well as: email, medical fax, and phone. Applicants must be conscientious.
Duties for this position include:
  • Warmly greeting and checking in patients and alert providers
  • Applying your excellent customer service skills while: answering the phone, providing general information on acupuncture and our practice, and checking and responding to emails in a timely manner
  • Using our software program to schedule patients while following our scheduling protocols
  • Assist providers in staying on time and being prepared for patients as needed
  • Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate patient records
  • Verify insurance information and assist with billing inquiries
  • Utilize JANE electronic health record system
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with medical administrative tasks as needed
  • Assisting with superbills/ itemized receipts for patients
  • Light cleaning of common areas or treatment rooms, distribute linens, refill items, vacuum, stock bathroom, organize distribute mail and packages
  • Assisting with ordering and stocking
  • Explain copays, coinsurance, deductibles and OOP Max
  • Mail/fax claims and charts to law offices and insurers
  • Assist owner with office errands at times.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity and willing to train on Mac computer with JANE ehr software.
  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
