Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our client's healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of medical office operations, EMR systems, and healthcare documentation to ensure smooth clinic workflows and compliance with healthcare regulations. Prior clinic or medical office experience is preferred, along with proficiency in various medical software platforms and excellent communication skills. Duties Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a positive first impression Schedule patient appointments using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification processes accurately Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting co-pays and updating demographic information Handle incoming multi-line phone calls with proper phone etiquette and route calls appropriately Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with billing procedures, including medical collection efforts and coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10) for claims processing Prepare and process documentation related to care plans, medical billing, and coding for insurance submissions Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently to ensure data accuracy and confidentiality Support front desk operations by filing documents, managing office supplies, and performing clerical tasks such as typing and data entry (10 key typing) Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate patient intake, medical scheduling, and follow-up appointments Ensure compliance with health information management standards and maintain confidentiality of patient information Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment; clinic or dental clinic experience highly preferred Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), Medicare guidelines, and health information management practices Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), office management software, and multi-line phone systems Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities Ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry tasks Office or administrative support experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable Join our client's team to contribute to providing outstanding patient care through efficient administrative support.
