Appointment Scheduler Join Our Team at Coastal Orthopedics Are you a friendly, organized professional who enjoys helping people and creating exceptional patient experiences? Coastal Orthopedics is seeking an Appointment Scheduler to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. In this vital role, you will help ensure a seamless scheduling experience while supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey. Position Summary The Appointment Scheduler plays a key role in delivering outstanding patient service by coordinating appointments, maintaining accurate patient information, and connecting patients with the resources they need. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to providing compassionate, professional support. Key Responsibilities Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, creating a positive first impression for every patient. Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments accurately and efficiently. Collect and document patient demographic, insurance, and other pertinent information to support quality patient care. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure information is updated in a timely manner. Assist patients by answering questions and directing them to appropriate resources and departments. Transfer calls to the appropriate team members as needed. Monitor and respond to voicemail messages, interoffice communications, and work queue tasks promptly. Coordinate same-day or urgent scheduling requests with the Clinic Director. Collect outstanding patient balances when applicable. Support departmental operations and perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, or customer service environment preferred. Strong computer skills and the ability to navigate multiple systems efficiently. Experience in an orthopedic or outpatient rehabilitation setting is strongly preferred. Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
