What You'll Be Responsible For We're looking for someone who anticipates the doctor's needs, keeps things running smoothly, and genuinely cares about the patient experience. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and provide outstanding customer service at the front desk, ensuring a positive first impression. Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Opendental and Adit, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily workflow. Verify insurance coverage and benefits, utilizing systems to confirm patient eligibility and coverage details. Manage medical billing processes by coding procedures accurately with CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review. Maintain accurate and organized medical records and dental files using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Open Dental. Handle incoming calls on multi-line phone systems with professionalism, practicing excellent phone etiquette while scheduling appointments or answering patient inquiries. Assist with intake procedures, insurance verification, and data entry tasks such as typing reports or updating patient information using Microsoft Office tools. Support office management tasks including, faxing, copying documents, and maintaining a clean, efficient front desk environment. Ensure compliance with all health information privacy standards under HIPAA by safeguarding patient data during documentation review and record handling. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic or medical office environment is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and medical coding (ICD-9/10) is essential. Demonstrated proficiency in dental practice management software such as Open Dental and Adit is advantageous. Strong understanding of insurance verification processes . Knowledge of dental billing procedures, CPT coding, ICD coding, and care plan documentation to support accurate billing practices. Excellent computer skills including typing , Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and familiarity with multi-line phone systems for effective communication. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Proven ability to handle clerical tasks efficiently while maintaining high levels of accuracy in documentation review and filing.
