Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and a welcoming environment for all visitors. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care. Duties Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out processes using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes Schedule patient appointments accurately while managing multiple-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy Collect and process payments, including medical collections and billing using medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Maintain precise medical records by reviewing documentation, updating patient charts, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Meditech or Dentrix Assist with intake procedures, including gathering medical history and updating patient information in the system Support clinical staff by preparing paperwork for procedures, reviewing care plans, and managing administrative support tasks in a fast-paced environment Skills Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing practices Proficiency with EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft for documentation review and record management Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred to navigate medical office workflows smoothly Skilled in clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10-key typing), and document management using Microsoft Office tools Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction and professionalism in all interactions Join our team to make a positive impact on patient experiences while working in a supportive environment that values your skills and dedication.
