Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate patient appointments, and ensure seamless communication between patients and medical staff. Email resumes to emmac@hailemedicalgroup.com Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors with a friendly, professional demeanor, ensuring a positive first impression. Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes accurately. Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including intake documentation review and data entry. Answer multi-line phone systems promptly with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately. Maintain accurate medical records by filing, retrieving, and updating patient files in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with billing processes by collecting payments, processing medical collection accounts, and supporting medical coding tasks including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
coding. Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as preparing care plans and reviewing documentation for accuracy. Utilize computer skills to operate office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix and manage electronic health information efficiently. Ensure all front desk activities adhere to confidentiality standards under HIPAA guidelines while providing outstanding customer service. Experience Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred, especially within dental or hospital settings. Demonstrated proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth is essential. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing practices required. Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare procedures is advantageous. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations. Excellent organizational skills combined with clerical experience in a busy office environment are necessary. Familiarity with dental terminology and dental office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is beneficial for dental clinic roles. Proven ability to handle multi-line phone systems, typing (including 10-key), and Microsoft Office applications confidently.
