In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, insurance verifications, and administrative tasks with precision and enthusiasm. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private plans, ensuring accurate billing processes Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette to handle inquiries and appointment scheduling Review and update patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and updating medical histories Perform insurance verification and pre-authorizations to facilitate smooth treatment workflows Handle billing tasks such as medical collection processes, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical billing procedures Maintain accurate documentation review for care plans, treatment authorizations, and medical records management Support office management tasks including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining organized paper and electronic files Use EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth to document patient interactions accurately Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure seamless scheduling of procedures and follow-ups Skills Proven experience in dental office front desk or medical administrative support within a clinic environment Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and healthcare documentation standards Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth; familiarity with Medisoft or Carestream is a plus Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and data entry accuracy (10 key typing) Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Experience with insurance verification processes for Medicare, Medicaid, private insurers; familiarity with health information management standards under HIPAA regulations Strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of medical billing procedures including collection efforts and documentation review for accuracy Ability to adapt quickly to new software tools and office procedures while maintaining attention to detail This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to contribute to a vibrant healthcare team while advancing their career in medical/dental administration.
