In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing essential administrative tasks. Your energetic approach and excellent communication skills will help streamline patient flow, coordinate appointments, and support the overall efficiency of our optometric clinic. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care and clinic operations in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service at the front desk Verify patient insurance coverage and perform insurance verification using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as My Vision Express Schedule appointments efficiently utilizing medical scheduling software and manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy Collect payments, process medical collections, and handle billing inquiries with accuracy and attention to detail Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation, updating EHR (Electronic Health Record), and ensuring HIPAA compliance Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies Experience Previous experience working in a optometric or optical environment is highly preferred Familiarity with EMR systems such as My Vision Express is essential Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical billing practices is required Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and health information management software Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations Demonstrated experience in customer service, phone etiquette, and front desk operations within Optometry or Optical settings Experience with insurance verification processes and Vision Insurance such as EyeMed, VSP, Spectera and Davis is preferred Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering outstanding patient care through efficient office management.
