Full-Time (Monday-Thursday 8AM-6PM) About Us We are a growing outpatient psychiatric practice dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered mental health care. We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment. Responsibilities Greet and check in patients in a professional and compassionate manner. Answer and route incoming phone calls. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments. Obtain and update patient demographic and insurance information. Collect copayments, balances, and process payments. Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and efficiently. Assist with patient intake forms and required documentation. Communicate effectively with providers, patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies. Process referrals, prior authorizations, and medical records requests as needed. Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality. Manage office correspondence, faxes, emails, and other administrative duties. Assist with daily office operations and maintain an organized front desk. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1-2 years of medical receptionist or medical office experience preferred. Experience verifying insurance benefits and obtaining authorizations. Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare office procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office. Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Professional appearance and demeanor. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working in a psychiatric, behavioral health, or mental health outpatient practice strongly preferred. Familiarity with psychiatric diagnoses, psychotropic medications, and mental health workflows is a plus. Experience with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and behavioral health benefits. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Pay:
$15.00 - $17.50 per hour
