Job Description

Job Summary Join our vibrant dental practice as a Front Desk Dental Office Coordinator, where you'll be the welcoming face and organized backbone of our clinic. Your energetic and professional demeanor will ensure a smooth patient experience from appointment scheduling to check-out. You'll handle a variety of administrative duties, coordinate with clinical staff, and maintain accurate patient records—all while fostering a positive environment that promotes excellent dental care. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of our patient-centered team, ensuring every visit is efficient, friendly, and seamless. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional customer service to create a positive first impression. Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring optimal daily flow. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance benefits checks, and handle insurance verification processes accurately. Collect payments, process medical collections, and perform billing tasks utilizing systems like Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth. Maintain and update patient records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Meditech, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries with clarity and courtesy. Review documentation for accuracy, assist with intake procedures, and support office management tasks including filing and data entry. Assist with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) and documentation review to ensure proper billing and compliance. Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations and support medical administrative functions. Skills Proven experience in a dental or medical front desk role with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical office procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms; experience with Epic or Meditech is a plus. Strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines, medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and insurance verification processes. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and familiarity with office management software like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks. Exceptional phone etiquette with multi-line phone system experience; ability to handle high call volumes efficiently. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Strong organizational skills with clerical experience in filing, documentation review, and health information management. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and providing outstanding patient service.
