Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, serving as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage check-out operations, coordinate appointments, and ensure seamless communication between patients and medical staff. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment while supporting efficient clinic workflows. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service while managing check-in and check-out procedures Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification to facilitate smooth billing processes Collect and process payments, including copays and outstanding balances, ensuring accurate documentation of transactions Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and taking detailed messages when necessary Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and CPT coding to support billing and documentation processes Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) for administrative tasks and data entry Familiarity with health information management practices, insurance verification procedures, and Medicare guidelines Exceptional patient service skills with a friendly demeanor and effective communication abilities in bilingual settings preferred Prior clinic or medical office experience demonstrating familiarity with front desk operations and medical scheduling Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to contribute to quality patient care through exceptional administrative support. $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
