Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist with ob/gyn experience to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative tasks. Your expertise in medical office operations, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and patient service will help streamline clinic workflows and enhance patient experiences.
This position requires multi-tasking:
insurance verification, checking in & checking out, collecting balances due, answering phones, etc. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out processes Schedule appointments using medical scheduling software such as Athenahealth, ensuring optimal clinic flow Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process insurance claims with accuracy using medical billing and coding knowledge Manage patient records by updating and maintaining electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, answering inquiries promptly and directing calls appropriately Collect co-pays and outstanding balances; perform medical collections when necessary with attention to detail Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with healthcare regulations; assist with care plan documentation review Maintain office supplies, organize filing systems for medical records, and support general office management tasks such as data entry and filing Assist with intake procedures for new patients, ensuring all necessary forms are completed accurately Verify insurance benefits; facilitate authorization requests as needed Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clerical skills Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Athenahealth; ability to learn new software quickly Knowledge of medical terminology, and medical billing procedures Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record management Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic computer skills for data entry and communication purposes Prior medical experience prefer Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment Join us in delivering outstanding healthcare experiences!
