Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The Front Office Associate is responsible for administering front office duties in a busy psychiatric practice. Responsibilities include answering phone calls in a courteous manner, greeting/ assisting patients in the same way and collecting co-pays. Responsible for assisting the front office and providers in meeting organizational goals and providing high quality care and service to all patients and customers. This position is from 9-5 but occasionally will work past 5 with overtime granted.

Practice Administrator Essential Functions:
Promptly and professionally answer telephone calls. Routes call appropriately. Schedules routine patient appointments with kindness and professionalism. Greets patients and assist them as appropriate. Verifies patient benefits at time of service, including copays, deductible, coinsurance, and any outstanding balances to the practice. Explains financial requirements to the patients or responsible parties and collects financial obligation from the patient. Maintains provider schedules. Assists providers with messages. Gives new patient packets to patients to be completed, and verifies packets for completeness and updates the EMR. Scans new patient packet, insurance cards (confirms the information entered into the EMR), and driver license into patient chart. Scans required documentation into the patient chart per provider discretion. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner. Maintain equipment as needed or reports problems with equipment as required. Responsible for maintaining positive rapport / teamwork with interfacing staff, providers, and management. Participate in staff meetings and relevant professional development activities. Maintain strict confidentiality. Other duties as required.
