Dental receptionist or dental assistant experience and experience utilizing Dentrix or comparable dental office software are preferred. Microsoft Word experience and the ability to multi-task are very desirable. Dental receptionist responsibilities include the following: Greeting and welcoming patients to the practice. Scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments as needed with Dentrix software. Assisting patients to fill out information forms. Preparing patients' charts and daily schedules for the dental staff. Updating patient records and documenting recent treatments and procedures. Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic reminders. Communicating with insurance providers as necessary. Verifying methods of payment and collecting payments in a fee for service designed practice. Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, entering data, filing, and faxing.
