Job Description
Our small, tight-knit team is searching for a Medical Receptionist who can help us keep things running smoothly while making our patients feel welcome and cared for. You'll be splitting your time between our Honolulu location (Monday through Wednesday) and Waianae (Thursdays). Whether you prefer a part-time or full-time position, you'll have every Friday through Sunday off! Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional administrative support within a fast-paced medical environment. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and excellent patient service. The ideal candidate is motivated, personable, and possesses a comprehensive understanding of medical office procedures and systems. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with check-in and check-out processes. Manage patient scheduling efficiently, ensuring optimal appointment flow and minimal wait times. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes; handle medical collection tasks as needed. Collect and document patient information accurately, review medical records for completeness, and update electronic health records with new data. Answer calls professionally, providing excellent patient service while addressing inquiries about appointments, billing, or general clinic information. Assist with medical billing including obtaining pre-authorizations from insurance companies, claims processing, and documentation review. Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards. Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry using Microsoft Office tools, and managing office supplies to keep the clinic running smoothly. Skills Proficiency in obtaining pre-authorizations, medical coding including CPT codes and ICD coding, along with familiarity with medical billing processes. Excellent phone etiquette combined with effective communication skills; bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations. Demonstrated experience in medical office management or administrative support within a clinical setting is advantageous. Solid understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times. Competency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Ability to handle intake procedures efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and care plan coordination. Prior clinic experience is preferred.
